Hello and welcome to this live text commentary of Portugal vs Faroe Islands from Group B of the 2018 European World Cup Qualifiers.
Portugal will be looking to put the pressure on group leaders Switzerland this evening, with a win moving them level for the time being. On the other hand, the Faroe Islands are fourth in the group and they are playing for pride at this stage.
Fernando Santos' Portugal side have been busy this summer, after competing in the Confederations Cup. The 2016 European Champions could only finish third but it allowed them to work on a number of things before the remainder of their World Cup Qualifiers.
Faroe Islands come into the game with just one win in their last five matches, with three of them being defeats. Their last success was a 2-0 win over Lativa, which came back in October 2016.
TEAM NEWS coming up shortly.
Portugal sit second in the group after just one defeat so far and Santos' men have won four of their last six matches in all competitions. They're the heavy favourites tonight and will need to deliver in front of their home crowd at the Estadio do Bessa XXI in Porto.

HALF-TIME - Portugal 2-1 Faroe Islands.
Well some late drama as Faroe Islands restore some pride and show they will continue to fight thanks to Baldvinsson's volley. Before that Ronaldo had scored two but several missed chances from Andre Silva, Moutinho and Carvalho were eventually punished.
The Faroe Islands are doing all they can to hang on and it has been a spirited display. For Portugal, they need to stop showing so much respect and go for the kill, with Ronaldo likely to grab his hat-trick.
FULL-TIME - Portugal 5-1 Faroe Islands
Ronaldo grabs the headlines once again with a superb hat-trick but of course a comfortable win was always expected. Santo's side were in total control apart from a nervous five minutes before half-time. Faroe Islands tried their hardest and can leave with some pride but they must continue to improve.
With Switzerland now under pressure, Portugal will be hoping to capitalise and move above them this week. They take on Hungary next time out in what promised to be a closer affair.
That's all for tonight folks, once again thanks for tuning into our live text commentary. Goodbye!
