The teams coming out onto the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Massimiliano Allegri will take charge of Juventus at home for the last time after he announced earlier in the week that he is leaving the club at the end of the season. The home side have already secured the league title but come into this game having won just one of their last seven games in all competitions (D3 L3) and are winless in their previous three. Atalanta are still chasing a top-four place with would earn them a Champions League spot for the first time in their history. They are unbeaten in their last 11 matches (W8 D3), but come into this game after losing the Coppa Italia final to Lazio in midweek.
Atalanta lead at Juventus 1-0 at half-time. The home side could've taken the lead in the first minute when Ronaldo blazed his shot over the crossbar but after that. Atalanta had the better chances in the half. Hateboer hit the crossbar with a shot from close range before Ilicic gave his side the lead. Juventus failed to clear a corner and Masiello squared the ball to Ilicic at the far post and he sidefooted his effort into the bottom corner. Zapata also came close when he hit his shot towards the near post, but Szczesny made a good save to deny him.
Juventus managed just one shot on target in the first half and Allegri won't be happy with how his team have performed when going forward. Their final ball into the box has let them down a lot and when they have got in on goal, they haven't been clinical enough and taken their chances. As for Gasperini, he will be very pleased with how his side played in the first half and will be looking for more of the same after the break. If they continue to go forward in the way that they have, then they stand a good chance of adding to their tally and getting the win they need to take a big step towards Champions League qualification.
So, Juventus couldn't win in Allegri's final home game in charge of the side, but they are getting ready to lift the Serie A trophy after retaining the title for the eighth consecutive season. Atalanta are in control of their own Champions League spot with that draw and rise up to third in the table. If they want to finish in the top four, then they need to beat Sassuolo in their final game next weekend.
