90' +5
C. Hourihane gets yellow.
N. Maupay gets yellow.
There's a massive tussle at the end of the game, which led to a couple of players arguing and pushing each other. Somehow the only player to go into the book is Hourihane, for his late challenge.
The referee also books Maupay for the altercation a little after Hourihane's booking.

El Ghazi sprints down the right and his low cross is hooked behind under pressure by Dunk. Brighton - who can't get out of their own half, are able to clear the set piece.
75'
J. Grealish has scored a goal for Aston Villa! Assist by Douglas Luiz.
GOALLL!!! Villa have got themselves an equaliser, courtesy of Grealish! Douglas Luiz, who has only been on for a few moments, bends a cross into Grealish and he is able to comfortably finish into the top-left corner!
It was a lovely weighted cross for Grealish, considering he's only been on the field for a matter of moments, and the away side are back in the game!
71'
Brighton have yet to have a shot on goal this half. It's a dangerous ploy sitting on this lead. Villa are growing in confidence but have yet to trouble Ryan.

60'
The home crowd are getting a little tense, as Brighton begin to drop deeper into their own half. The Villa fans are starting to build in noise, and quieten the Amex Stadium. A nervous final 30 minutes are left remaining.
58'
Grealish tricks his way down the left on the by-line and squares a ball for Guilbert but the offside flag is up. He had strayed slightly ahead of play, and it's a great spot from the assistant.
55'
Aston Villa have begun to feel their way into this second half. The majority of possession has been held by Brighton, but they haven't been creating anything of note, but Grealish is beginning to dart down the right side of the field and cause some issues for Alzate.
53'
Great work once again from Trezeguet down this right-hand side! This time he finds the final ball but perhaps to the wrong player. Drinkwater strikes first time from 18 yards but is leaning back horribly and skies an effort into the away fans.
51'
A chance for Aston Villa! Trezeguet makes space to create down the right and fires in a fierce cross that needs punching clear from Ryan.
49'
A strange call from the referee a few moments ago. Bernardo drives a high ball into the box, and there's suspicion of a potential handball. However this suspicion is waved away almost instantly, with the ball being nowhere near the arm of Mings, play continues.
47'
Brighton have started the livlier of the two sides in these opening moments, as they hold the ball patiently within their own half.

43'
L. Dunk gets yellow.
El Ghazi spins Dunk in the midfield, and the defender hauls the forward down. It's an obvious booking, and is Dunk's eighth yellow card of the season.
40'
After the opening goal for Brighton, it means that Villa have not kept a clean sheet since their 1-0 victory against Norwich on Boxing Day. There's a lot of work to be done, and no clean sheet for Pepe Reina on his debut.
38'
L. Trossard has scored a goal for Brighton & Hove Albion! Assist by N. Maupay.
It's a fantastic assist by Maupay, but the danger signs have been there all game for the Villa defence. They've been very sloppy at the back, and they pay the price this time.
GOALL!! It's Brighton who take the lead! Just after the chance from Grealish, Brighton are able to counter-attack to perfection! Maupay charges through the Villa backline and sends the ball to Trossard on the left. The Belgian had a lot to do, but somehow he reverses a clever shot into the back of the net!
Massive chance for Villa! Grealish, just like Bernardo moments ago, is left with plenty of space to take on a chance at goal. Grealish darts into the box, and his shot is a low, curling strike that Ryan comfortably saves.
35'
Villa are defending with their lives! Bernardo somehow finds himself with plenty of open space to run towards the away side's goal. He then takes on a curling-strike from just outside of the box, which causes problems for Pepe Reina. The goalkeeper punches the ball away, and Konsa clears his lines.
32'
Maupay drops deep and is able to pick up possession. He spins and lets fly from around 20 yards out. Mings gets a deflection on the ball, which wrong-foots Reina but it drifts only just wide of the post.
30'
Villa look to threaten down the left flank of the pitch, Grealish guides the ball into the box for El Ghazi. The forward is able to just get the slightest of touches on the ball before Webster is able to hoof the ball from his own goal.
27'
Another major chance goes wide for Brighton! Connolly did really well to hold onto the ball with Hause marking the Irishman. Connolly eventually finds Maupay, who plays the ball back to the striker, but the trajectory of the shot is poor, and the ball rolls past the post.
25'
So far, there's been four shots for Brighton, but none of them have been on target. Aston Villa look to be living very dangerously right now, but the home side aren't doing enough to test Pepe Reina in the Villa goal.
23'
A corner is given to Villa, this time played out by Guilbert. The Frenchman plays a short one-two with Grealish before the ball is swooped into the box. Hause tussles with Webster for the ball, but the Brighton defense stays resolute, and the chance goes begging.
18'
Trossard furiously protests to the referee for a second Villa booking. The Belgian uses his strength to guide the ball away from the corner flag, as his shirt is pulled by Konsa. The referee waves away any chance of a yellow card, and play continues much to the disgust of Trossard.
17'
Brighton get a goal-kick. Ryan smashes the ball for Trossard on the far-right of the pitch, but he fires the ball out of play completely, gifting Aston Villa a throw-in within their attacking half of play.
16'
Villa have begun to enjoy a large spell of possession in the last few moments. Konsa drives forward up the pitch, and spreads the ball to Targett on the other side of the pitch, but the full-back is closed down almost instantly, and Brighton are given a throw-in.
14'

Drinkwater is the first player to go into the book in this match. The midfielder slices Maupay down towards the middle of the field, and leaves the referee no choice but to book the player early on.
12'

10'
Corner for Aston Villa. Grealish is able to steer the ball into the middle of the box, but Dunk is easily able to clear the ball away, and pave a counter-attack for Brighton.
7'
Pepe Reina comes to the rescue. Trossard sprints down the left-wing for Brighton and feeds a low cross into the box, the ball hits Mings and bounces to the path of Connolly, who heads on goal. Pepe Reina however sprints out of his goal, and punches the ball away. Early danger for the away side!
5'
The first chance of the game goes Brighton's way! The ball bounces around the defenders and eventually lands at the feet of Maupay, but his shot is hit high and wide from the Villa goal.

Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of the Premier League fixture between Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton have been struggling in recent weeks having won just once in their last five Premier League matches. A 1-0 loss to Everton last time out saw the Seagulls drop to 14th, just three points above the relegation zone. Today could be a big opportunity for Graham Potter’s side to keep distance from the relegation zone, though, against strugglers Villa, who find themselves in a precarious position, especially after their 6-1 defeat to Manchester City last week. They sit 18th but a win today could push them out of the relegation zone dependant on results elsewhere.
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION XI (4-4-2): Mat Ryan, Steven Alzate, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Bernardo, Aaron Mooy, Davy Propper, Dale Stephens, Leandro Trossard, Neal Maupay, Aaron Connolly.
Brighton have largely dominated this first half in terms of chances. Overall they had seven shots, with the only one on target resulting in the goal. It's been the story of their season so far - they need to be less complacent with their chances as they could've easily been two or three goals up already. Villa maybe without a leading striker up top, but the defence has been the major issue. Konsa, Mings and Hause have been way too open, resulting in a whole host of opportunities for the home side and if it stays that way in the second half, expect Brighton to bag a few more goals.
Brighton are next in action to Bournemouth away on Tuesday, while Aston Villa will face Watford at home in a relegation three-pointer.
