The hosts have one final chance here as Norwood lines up a free-kick, but they can't attack it with enough venom and that will be that at Bramall Lane.
90' +2
Bernardo Silva enters the game and replaces R. Sterling.
Guardiola makes one final change and it's a late appearance for Bernardo - he comes on for Sterling.
90' +1
Four minutes of time to be added on at the end - is there a final chance in this for United?
90'
What a run by Mahrez! He weaves his way past the Sheffield United defenders, cuts inside and gets a right-footed shot away, but it's blocked by Egan.
88'
The Blades in possession and Stevens goes long looking for McBurnie - he wins the header and knocks it down into space in front of the City defence, but Mousset isn't aware and doesn't chase the second ball down quickly enough.
84'
O. McBurnie gets yellow.
A second yellow card dished out in quick succession, this time for McBurnie for catching Rodri. It seems pointless given Rodri had his back to the United goal and was under pressure.
83'
S. Agüero gets yellow.
A goal and a booking now for Aguero! He's shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away after winning a throw.
80'
Two attacking changes from Wilder then with 10 minutes left to play - they're going for it here!
78'
J. Lundstram enters the game and replaces M. Bešić.
Eric García enters the game and replaces Aymeric Laporte.
C. Robinson enters the game and replaces C. Basham.
It's the first of two changes for the Blades and it's an attacking one as Wilder sacrifices a centre-back for a striker - Basham comes off for Robinson.
An impressive return from injury for Laporte, but it's the end of the road today and he's taken off for Garcia.
And Besic is the next to come off, with Lundstram his replacement.
Minute
Description
77'
Mahrez has a chance to fire in a set piece and it's got some pace behind it, but United head it away for a corner. The Algerian again with the delivery and Rodri's there to flick it on, but it's over.
75'
Sheffield United have reason to feel hard done by given their overall performance today, but a few times now they've been sloppy at the back and allowed City a chance. Not on this occasion, though - they were undone by some De Bruyne brilliance.
73'
S. Agüero has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by K. De Bruyne.
GOAAAL! 1-0 CITY! This is what City can do! They break quickly from McBurnie's miss up the other end and Aguero is in the right place at the right time for a tap-in from inside the six-yard box!
WHAT A MISS! The goal was gaping for McBurnie, but he just can't get enough on the end of the cross and it drifts wide! A wonderful passing move to break City down!
Such a delightful pass from De Bruyne to pick Aguero out. He doesn't even need to look - he's always on the same wavelength as his team-mates and just knows where Aguero is going to be.
67'
S. Agüero enters the game and replaces Gabriel Jesus.
It seemed to be only a matter of time for as long as the scores stayed level, but Aguero finally comes on for Jesus.
65'
Sterling now the next of a long line of City players to get in behind, but he goes for goal from a tight angle and shoots over. Did he see Jesus there? His team-mate was in a much better position and it's most likely a shot on goal if he squares.
61'
City refusing to take their foot off the gas and Jesus gets in behind and onto Rodri's pass, but there isn't enough pace for the ball and it's a simple save for Henderson from Jesus' header!
59'
L. Mousset enters the game and replaces B. Sharp.
Sharp passes the captain's armband on to Norwood as he makes his way off the pitch - he's put in a superb shift up top, but Wilder brings him off for Mousset.
58'
Another corner for City - their eighth of the game now - and it's De Bruyne once more with the ball, but Rodri heads wide from the near post. It's not far off finding the bottom corner!
54'
Norwood with a delivery from the corner spot and helped across goal with a flick from O'Connell, but no one else can make contact - that could have been a goal!
53'
Rodri gets yellow.
Rodri the next to go into Lee Mason's book with a cynical foul on McBurnie around the halfway line to prevent the break. Sharp's away to the right there and a pass from McBurnie plays him in.
52'
That's a great pass from Laporte through the lines to pick out Jesus at the edge of the box and the Brazilian uses his feet to draw the foul from Basham - another clumsy challenge from the United backline.
50'
Corner to City coming up. Sheffield United haven't looked totally comfortable in these set-piece situations, so what can De Bruyne do here? It's long to the back post, but Egan flicks it clear. It's clumsy though and forces Stevens to give away a free-kick.
48'
City on the break with Mahrez's pass sending De Bruyne clear on the left - the Belgian's touch is phenomenal, mind - but he can't pick out Jesus in the middle to finish off the move.
46'
KICK-OFF! City restart the action at Bramall Lane.
45' +2
Fernandinho gets yellow.
A first yellow card for City and it's a deserved one for Fernandinho - it's not his first offence of the night. This time he's clambered over McBurnie to win a header.
HALF-TIME: SHEFFIELD UNITED 0-0 MANCHESTER CITY.
45'
We're into two minutes of added time.
43'
J. Fleck gets yellow.
A third yellow card of the half and it's gone to another United player! It's Fleck with a lunge on Fernandinho, catching him on the ankle. City were in behind there, but the referee pulls play back.
41'
Walker, tries to find De Bruyne, but given away and United with a chance to set-up a counter attack and Norwood tries to do so with a long ball in behind, but Ederson is off his line and out of his area quickly to put it out for a throw.
38'
Sheffield United threatening in the attacking third - Baldock with a cross into Basham, but he can't his head under it properly and heads it up into the air for City to clear.
36'
Penalty saved by D. Henderson!
SAVED! Jesus has missed a penalty already this season and Henderson reads him perfectly, gets across to his right and makes an excellent stop to keep the scores level! "England's number one," chant the crowd.
33'
What a clearance this is from Laporte. How City have missed him! Norwood whips in a corner to the far post and - under pressure from McBurnie and Egan - Laporte gets himself under the ball and heads it out of danger.
31'
City are piling on the pressure at the moment and it's De Bruyne next with an attempt, but it's blocked from outside the box.
26'
Corner for City coming up and it's Mahrez with the delivery - Otamendi gets to it, but Henderson saves! Only cleared as far as De Bruyne, who whips in a fantastic pass to Sterling to blaze over the bar.
24'
O. Norwood gets yellow.
Norwood is the second to go into the book for a cynical foul on Sterling - an inevitable card for preventing a City breakaway.
22'
Just over 20 minutes gone here and Sheffield United very much holding their own against the champions - so often sides finding themselves overwhelmed at this stage, but not the Blades, who have proved they can play against the top sides.
17'
Even though City's back three have a numerical advantage over United's two strikers, they're still finding themselves stretched on occasion.
15'
Sharp showing he's still got the legs for the top flight at the age of 33 with a clever run in behind and O'Connell tries to feed him, but Sharp's just offside. Free-kick to City.
13'
M. Bešić gets yellow.
An early yellow card here for Besic - it's a bad foul from him on Laporte.
8'
OVER THE BAR! First real chance of the game for City here as Rodri sets up Zinchenko following a corner, but the Ukraine international fires over the bar from outside the box.
6'
Is this a sign of what's to come? Fernandinho gives away an early foul against Sharp and it could well be foreboding of his struggles against the two United strikers.
3'
A tentative opening at Bramall Lane as City look to feel their opponents out and get a sense of how much space they're going to give up - but if there's anything we know about the Blades, it's that their rearguard is often stern.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're underway at Bramall Lane.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League match between Sheffield United and Manchester City.
SUBS: Claudio Bravo, Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden, Eric Garcia.
SUBS: John Lundstram, Callum Robinson, Phil Jagielka, Kieron Freeman, Michael Verrips, Lys Mousset, Ben Osborn.
MANCHESTER CITY XI (3-4-3): Ederson; Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi, Aymeric Laporte; Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling.
SHEFFIELD UNITED XI (3-5-2): Dean Henderson; Chris Basham, John Egan, Jack O'Connell; George Baldock, Muhamed Besic, Oliver Norwood, John Fleck, Enda Stevens; Billy Sharp, Oli McBurnie.
Don't go anywhere because the teams are out and kick-off is on the way.
We can expect City to start throwing caution to the wind after the break - as is their custom with the game level - but it could see them start giving up more space in behind. A reminder, they've kept just two clean sheets in their last 13 Premier League games, but one of those did come against Sheffield United at the Etihad.
Whisper it quietly, but Sheffield United are in the hunt for a spot in the top four of the Premier League - they're just five points behind Chelsea and have the chance to narrow the gap to two when they host the defending champions today, who themselves have only second place to play for. Their draw with Crystal Palace on the weekend leaves them with a now insurmountable 16-point gap to Liverpool.
A win for City sees them cement their spot in second, now making it five games undefeated in the Premier League, with four wins in that time. But they're still 13 points behind Liverpool having played two games more. They're in FA Cup action against Fulham on the weekend. Sheffield United stay seventh for the time being, but could drop to eighth if Tottenham win tomorrow. They're also in the fourth round of the FA Cup and face a trip to Millwall on Saturday.
That's all from us for City's victory at Bramall Lane. Thanks for joining us and goodbye for now!
