H. Barnes has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by M. Albrighton.
GOAAAL! 4-0 LEICESTER! A second for Barnes! Such intelligent play from the wide men as Albrighton picks out Barnes in the middle of the box and the midfielder tucks it away at the near post. A brilliant goal.
A lovely assist from Albrighton to set this up. He's so measured in his selection and doesn't fire a low ball aimlessly across the box, but instead gets his head up, spots Barnes and finds him perfectly.
83'
N. Mendy enters the game and replaces W. Ndidi.
Here comes the final change for Leicester as Ndidi - who's making his first start since the first day of the year - is coming off for Mendy, who himself has been out for a month with a knee issue.
81'
Vardy the scorer and Barnes the man to drive the ball forwards, but let's mention Evans here. Not one, but two key tackles at the edge of his own area to prevent Villa getting a shot away and set up a counter that ends in a goal. Excellent play from the centre-back.
79'
J. Vardy has scored a goal for Leicester City!
Justin, inside to Tielemans who tries to feed Maddison with a throughball, but it's cut out. Leicester keep the pressure on, but again Mings reads it and clears.
GOAAAAAL! VARDY FOR 3-0! He's come off the bench to score a double as Leicester secure their grip on third place. A lovely finish from the Englishman as he cuts in from the left, reacts quickly to the block and finishes beyond Reina. Game over.
78'
Leicester are still striving for another goal here as Barnes gets to the byline for a cross, but this time it's too strong and goes out for a throw on the other side of the pitch.
76'
J. Evans gets yellow.
Y. Tielemans enters the game and replaces D. Praet.
Second change for Leicester and it's another positive one as Tielemans replaces Praet.
Evans is the next to go into the book for a foul on Samatta.
71'
D. Praet gets yellow.
Yellow card for Praet as he comes in late and from behind on Nakamba.
67'
K. Davis enters the game and replaces C. Hourihane.
Hourihane's been treading a fine line after his first-half booking and Smith won't take the risk, taking him off for Davis.
Minute
Description
66'
Maddison again at the centre of play as he slips Vardy through. Maddison continues his run and collects the return pass, but he's pushed in the back by Hourihane! No call from the referee against Hourihane, who's already been booked.
63'
Penalty goal scored by J. Vardy for Leicester City!
A. El Ghazi enters the game and replaces Ahmed El Mohamady.
GOAAAL! 2-0 LEICESTER! Vardy's missed a penalty already this season, but no mistake this time as he sends Reina the wrong way and tucks it down the middle for his 18th league goal of the season! The Vardy party lives on after all!
A first change for the visitors as El Mohamady comes off for El Ghazi.
59'
J. Vardy enters the game and replaces K. Ịheanachọ.
That's Iheanacho's game done. He won't get that chance to score in four games against Villa this season as he's replaced by Vardy after an injury absence.
57'
Maddison now slipping Iheanacho through and he's got space to shoot, but he's too slow to react and Villa quickly surround him and get it clear.
56'
Maddison to take and it's into the mix at the centre of the box, but Mings rises to clear. Justin sends it back in, but Mings is there again.
55'
Another corner for Leicester - will Villa deal with this one better than the last few?
52'
CHANCE FOR VILLA! Hourihane has an opportunity here from the edge of the box and he cuts onto his right foot, but he's off-balance as he shoots and his effort flies over the bar.
50'
Grealish now getting involved, but he's under pressure and can't turn and face forwards, instead passing back to El Mohamady. He's been so quiet all game and actually had the fewest touches of any player on the pitch in the first half.
46'
KICK-OFF! Action resumes with Leicester a goal in front.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: LEICESTER 1-0 ASTON VILLA.
45' +1
Targett's back up and and ready to play on.
43'
C. Hourihane gets yellow.
The first booking of the game goes to Hourihane - he clips Ricardo's heels to stop him breaking away and can't complain at the decision.
40'
H. Barnes has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by M. Albrighton.
GOOAAAAL! 1-0 LEICESTER! Barnes takes advantage of a glaring error from Reina! The keeper's off his line, he's never getting there first and Barnes takes him out with one touch, cuts inside and just bends it past Mings into an open net.
That all comes from an Albrighton long pass, but of course helped from a massive misjudgement from Reina. He's always second to that ball and yet again individual errors are costing Villa.
39'
SAVED! Barnes is the next with a chance from out wide as he surges into space on the left of the box, but it's clear he's trying to bend it around the keeper and Reina spots it a mile off and makes an easy stop.
37'
Praet does well to keep the move alive at the edge of the box and he finds Maddison with a pass, but Mings clears his cross. It seems the flanks are the best means of attack for Leicester and most of their attacking play has been focussed out wide.
32'
Albrighton again with space on the right and this time he looks for Barnes at the back post, but it's too high for the Leicester wide man and Engels clears.
30'
Albrighton now free on the right and he passes back inside to Ricardo, inside again to Ndidi. Leicester work it wide to Justin on the other flank and he looks for Iheanacho with a cross, but Villa turn it behind. Corner for Leicester.
23'
Justin wants a penalty! He's surging into the box and Guilbert goes sliding in from behind and it seems though he won the ball. Michael Oliver's having none of it and waves away the Leicester appeals.
22'
Barnes with the ball free on the left and he cuts inside to get away from El Mohamady, but Villa stay compact and force their hosts back into their own half. A good shape so far from Villa, except of course at corners.
18'
Free-kick to Leicester as El Mohamady catches Justin from behind as he tries to start a counter-attack.
16'
There's a brief stoppage as Soyuncu and Samatta clash heads during an aerial battle, but the centre-back will be fine to play on. All just precautionary.
14'
Justin now getting forward and it's a good ball in, cleared by Mings for another Leicester corner. Another chance, perhaps? Soyuncu this time that's free at the far post, but he heads over.
10'
An early scare for Reina! Iheanacho runs through on goal to try and get on the end of a throughball, and Engels almost heads into his own goal as he tries to turn it behind. Corner coming up.
9'
Now Maddison, slipping Iheanacho through. He spots Barnes on his left and decides to use him, but the cross goes straight to Reina to mop up.
8'
Grealish already stamping his authority on proceedings - what a player he is. And now returning to the ground at which he scored his first Premier League goal back in the 2015-16 season during a 3-2 loss, with Villa ultimately relegated.
6'
Villa on the ball early on here, with Grealish now driving forwards and spreading play wide to Targett. He looks to cut one back, but Hourihane misses the ball and Leicester are let off the hook.
4'
This is hugely important for Leicester in the race for the top four, especially with many of their rivals winning over the weekend. The Foxes have won just three times in their last 12 in the league and they're slowly but surely losing their grip on third.
2'
Mings under pressure from Iheanacho in his own half and the Leicester forward ends up forcing him to give the ball away, but the Villa centre-back wins a free-kick.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're up and running at the King Power Stadium.
Hello and welcome to Monday’s Premier League game at the King Power Stadium as Leicester host Aston Villa.
An important game for both sides today and crucially a chance for Villa to get out of the bottom three and relieve some pressure after three straight league defeats. But the spotlight’s on Leicester too with just one win in their last seven in the league and third spot now under threat, as well as Manchester United lurking just five points behind in fifth.
LEICESTER XI (4-1-4-1): Kasper Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, James Justin; Wilfred Ndidi; Marc Albrighton, Dennis Praet, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes; Kelechi Iheanacho.
SUBS: Wes Morgan, Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy, Danny Ward, Ayoze Perez, Nampalys Mendy, Christian Fuchs.
ASTON VILLA XI (4-3-3): Pepe Reina; Frederic Guilbert, Bjorn Engels, Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett; Douglas Luiz, Marvelous Nakamba, Conor Hourihane; Ahmed El Mohamady, Ally Samatta, Jack Grealish.
SUBS: Keinan Davis, Neil Taylor, Orjan Nyland, Danny Drinkwater, Trezeguet, Ezri Konsa, Anwar El Ghazi.
Don’t go anywhere because the teams are out and kick-off is coming up next.
Leicester go into the break 1-0 ahead thanks to Barnes' fourth Premier League goal of the season, taking total advantage of an erratic decision from Reina to rush off his line. It should really be more though, with Villa struggling to defend set pieces and all of Evans, Soyuncu and Iheanacho missing clear-cut chances from corners.
After a promising opening ten minutes, Villa have seriously faded as Leicester took control of the game. Villa are inviting too much pressure and their defence - which is the worst in the Premier League - just can't cope. A change of strategy is needed in the second half.
Leicester are once again five points clear of Chelsea in fourth and now eight clear of Manchester United in fifth as they head towards a spot in the Champions League for the first time since the 2016-17 season. Trouble's brewing for Villa, who remain 19th for now - two points off safety - but their goal difference has taken a huge hit, which could be vital come the end of the season. It's Watford away for the Foxes next weekend, while Villa host Chelsea.
That's all from us. Thanks for joining us and goodbye for now!
